    Description

Mike Sekowsky and Dick Giordano Wonder Woman #186 Cover Original Art (DC, 1970). One of the most interesting and often overlooked changes at DC, marking the start of a shift from the Silver to the Bronze Age, was in Wonder Woman. From issue #178 until #203, she had given up her Amazonian heritage, powers, and costume, and she was training with a Sensei to learn Martial Arts. This major costume change pre-dates Green Arrow's in Brave and the Bold #85. Her four-year-long era is often referred to as her "White period" as Diana Prince wore predominately white mod-style clothing and no standard costume during that time. But in fact, the white clothing only started with the issue previous to this one. A wonderful cover, it was created in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The logo and cover text are all stat paste-ups. Wonder Woman's head is an original art paste-up also. There is a bit of glue residue near the header/logo paste-ups. Overall, in Excellent condition.
