DescriptionMike Sekowsky and Dick Giordano Adventure Comics #404 Supergirl Cover Original Art (DC, 1971). After years as a back-up feature in Action Comics, Supergirl finally got her own spotlight as lead feature in Adventure Comics, beginning with issue #381. In #397 she began altering her costume, which is why she is in the thigh-boots. This issue, her powers continue to cut in and out as she faces her newest adversary... the villainess Starfire and her... clown crew? It's a mighty Bronze Age masterpiece, drawn by fan faves Sekowsky and Giordano. The art is in ink over graphite and blue pencil on Sparta Bristol board. The art has an image area of 10" x 15". All masthead logo stats are original production pieces. Part of the pasted-on question mark in the lower right is missing, the letters have tanned, and there is a slight bit of tanning in the masthead area. Very Good condition. A faded signature from Mike Sekowsky is along the lower portion of the art.
