Description

Mike Grell Jon Sable, Freelance #56 Cover Original Art (First, 1988). This was the cover for the last issue of Jon Sable, Freelance. Grell even added a "-30-" after his signature, which is a journalistic term from the days of telegraph that means "the end" of the story. But don't go boo-hooing into your hankies because the very next month saw the first issue of Sable from First Comics. This cover showcases Grell's incredible design sense. It is ink and Zipatone over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The back side has a surprise... a personal message from Grell and a signature with a quick self-portrait. In Excellent condition.
