Description
Michael Golden and Mike Gustovich Justice Machine Annual Wraparound Cover The Elementals Original Art (Texas Comics, 1983). A truly large Michael Golden piece! It is from a key issue in the alternative comics genre of the early 1980s! Although the book is titled Justice Machine Annual, that team does not appear on the cover. Instead we get fantastic Michael Golden artwork of both the T.H.U.N.D.E.R. Agents and The Elementals. Although this cover appearance is the Elementals' first appearance, it wasn't drawn by their creator Bill Willingham. Willingham did provide the art for their first appearance in the interior story, and they would go one to become one of Comico Comics' most popular titles shortly after this. The wraparound cover was created in ink over graphite with a matted image area of 22.25" x 18.5". There is a bit of glue residue along the right side. After the fact, someone has applied sticky presstype letters and numbers to the bottom left corner, most of which have come off, leaving glue residue. Signed and dated in the upper right.
