Marvin Stein Justice Traps the Guilty #73 Cover Original Art (Prize Comics, 1955). Although crime comics as a class had been squelched by the new Comics Code Authority, Justice Traps the Guilty had a survival strategy built into its title -- a crime-busting law-and-order attitude. Stein's command of deep perspective makes this Cold War scenario a stunner, depicting a weapons-smuggling bust that gets interrupted by the very perpetrators. Stein's vivid saturated-brush inking lends depth and immediacy. Ink over blue pencil on illustration board, with an image area of 12" x 18.5". Pronounced, fairly even age-toning, with adhesive staining. Blank patches at the left and top had contained blurbs boasting of "always all-new stories" and a basis in "true police and FBI cases." Very Good condition.
