Description

Mark Pacella and Dan Panosian X-Force #13 Cable Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1992). This dramatic cover close-up reveals the extent of Cable's techno-organic virus infection for the very first time! For over two years of mutant publishing, fans had come to recognize the X-Force leader's cybernetic arm and glowing eye -- but it wasn't until this cover, where the left side of his face is torn away, that his full cyborg nature was finally revealed. The image became so iconic that ToyBiz, maker of the classic Marvel action figures of the 1990s, released a "Cable Cyborg" figure with a tearaway skin feature that exposed the cybernetic face beneath. Gross -- but oh-so-fun! Rendered in ink and Zipatone over graphite on Marvel Comics Bristol board with an image area of 9.25" x 15". All text and trade dress elements are paste-up, with a slight residue stain from the title logo visible below the "X." Additional features include discolored Zipatone, minor rippling, staple holes in the top margin, and tape on the reverse along the top edge. Signed and in Very Good condition.
