Marie Severin and Frank Giacoia Sub-Mariner #22 Cover Doctor Strange Original Art (Marvel, 1970). In a prequel to the forming of the original Defenders, Prince Namor gets a visit from the Master of the Mystic Arts. In a longstanding tradition of artists drawing graveyard scenes, the names of the penciler and inker appear on a tombstone along with the year 1969. The image area original art was produced in ink over graphite and blue pencil (with whiteout art corrections) on Bristol board and trimmed to the 10" x 15" image area before being affixed to a larger sheet of World Color cover stock Bristol board. The corner box, price/issue box, and logo are all stat paste-ups. The caption box is a hand-lettered paste-up. The bottom margin is signed by Marie Severin. In Excellent condition.
