DescriptionLeslie Cabarga Berkeley Comicon Presents Betty Boop Cover Original Art (Berkeley Comicon, 1976). Essential stuff, here, for devotees of the Fleischer Bros.' animated cartoons and the Underground Comix scene. The 1976 Berkeley Con coincided with the publication of Undergrounder Cabarga's film-history book, The Fleischer Story, and the author-artist marked the occasion with this splendid wraparound cover for the program guide. Both images depict the Fleischers' signature character, Betty Boop, and the rear cover (left) throws in a Disney parody as a finishing touch. Drawn to actual publication size. Ink over blue pencil with collage effect (lower right) on Bristol board. Image area, 8.25" x 11.5". Faint toning and light adhesive residue. Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
