Lee Weeks Daredevil #293 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1991). What an iconic cover image -- The Punisher down, with Daredevil standing over him, pistol in hand... wow! This is from the story "Murder by Numbers," and what happened is that Daredevil has stopped Punisher from killing Taskmaster, knocking him to the ground and taking his gun away; seconds later, Punisher will draw a large knife and throw it straight toward Taskmaster's heart. But with this cover image, it appears for all the world that Daredevil has just shot and killed Punisher! The stark black and white art is in ink over graphite on Marvel Comics Bristol board, with an image area of 9.75" x 15". All masthead photostats are original production pieces, and the overall condition is Excellent. Signed in the right margin by Weeks, dated 2000. A small color photo of the printed cover is included.
