DescriptionLee Elias - Original Cover Art for War Battles #7 (Harvey, 1952). A stogie-chomping hard-bitten Sarge takes out a Russian supply train (blasting a few Commies to oblivion in the process) on this outstanding war cover by the great Lee Elias. Heavy jabs of black ink lend weight and solidity to the foreground figures, while the train at the back is rendered with painstaking accuracy and detail. The plane flying a strafing run is pasted-on to the art, but is original, as is the text box. The logo, however, is a recent replacement. Excellent condition overall, with very little white-out. Measures 12.5" x 18", with an image area of 10" x 15".
