DescriptionLee Elias - Original Cover Art for Black Cat Mystery #49 (Harvey, 1953). Not content to just frighten the bejeebers out of us, Lee Elias and the writers of those terrifying Harvey horror comics have to push this gnarly scene right into our retinas! No one can look directly at this icky image without feeling a little lump in their throat. A testament to the power of Elias' terrifying talent and knack for horrific imagery. This art measures 14.5" x 18.5" with an 11" x 15.75" image area. The logo and indicia art are recent photocopy replacements, which sit on an acetate overlay. The last two fingers below the "B" is also replacement art, done on the board. Still, a tasty bit of vintage Golden Age Harvey horror!
