Description

Lee Elias Chamber of Chills Magazine #24 (#4) Cover Original Art (Harvey, 1951). The theme of a "mad doctor" reducing the size of humans was featured in several classic movies, including The Bride of Frankenstein, Dr. Cyclops, and Attack of the Puppet People. Here is the Harvey Comics version, created by Lee Elias as the cover to the fourth issue of Chamber of Chills. It's all here -- a beautiful girl in bondage, strange caged creature, sinister-looking professor, and squirming victims -- what 1950s kid could resist plunking down a dime for a "funnybook" like this? The art is in ink over graphite on Bristol board, with an image area of 12" x 18". While most of the top masthead logo is an original production stat, the top blurb and title, first "C" in "Chamber," and text box along the lower left are all recent replacements. Very Good condition.
