Description

Lee Elias Black Cat Comics #25 Cover Original Art (Harvey Comics, 1950). As a Hollywood-based superhero, Linda "Black Cat" Turner met many movie stars in the course of her crimebusting adventures. Elias' character-defining image finds the Black Cat bursting from a festive banner, surrounded by the caricatured likes of Clark Gable, Lucille Ball, and Bing Crosby, among others. This composition adorned one of the more glamorous incarnations of Black Cat, whose variant titles over the long term also included Black Cat Western Comics, Black Cat Mystery Comics, and Black Cat Mystic. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. Image area, 11" x 15.25". The primary-source artwork is surmounted by a tipped-in photostatic logo. Very Good condition, with age-toning, spot-staining, and adhesive residue.
