Description
Lee Elias Black Cat Comics #10 Cover Original Art (Harvey, 1948). Black Cat (Linda Turner) appears as both a superhero and civilian in this dreamy cover centering on her love interest, Rick Horne, and father, Tim Turner. Lee Elias is forever associated with Black Cat, and this cover exemplifies his glamorous take on the Golden Age heroine. Originally from the Don Heck Estate prior to the Roger Hill Collection, this piece is offered alongside multiple other covers and complete stories from Black Cat Comics, showcasing the title's evolving and wide-ranging subject matters. Created in ink over graphite on Bristol board (affixed to a larger Bristol board) with an image area of 11" x 16" (including stat area). The upper image area is comprised of a re-creation stat paste-up for the logos and text, and art restoration for the upper-right edges of the clouds; created in ink over graphite on the stat paste-up, the cloud outlines on the stat board differ from the cover as published. Small stains, whiteout, toning, and handling wear. Signed in the lower right and in Very Good condition.From the Roger Hill Collection.
