DescriptionLank Leonard and Morris Weiss - Feature Funnies #19 Cover Original Art (Eastman Color, 1939). Real fame came to Lank Leonard with the Mickey Finn comic strip, which was launched in 1936 by the McNaught Syndicate and was quite a success. Mickey Finn was a sympathetic look at police, and focused on humor and character instead of crime and violence. Leonard penned this slapstick illustration for the cover of Famous Funnies #19, spotlighting cheerful Uncle Phil, and Mickey himself -- big and strong, and ever patient. The art has some slight aging apparent, and some editorial markings along the outer edges, but overall is in Excellent condition. The image area of the cover measures 9.5" x 10", while the overall paper measures 10.5" x 13". Signed by Lank Leonard.
