DescriptionKim Deitch Weirdo #19 Back Cover and Color Code Plate Original Art and Color Code Plate Group of 2 (Last Gasp, 1986). An essential image from Deitch's long-running epic mythology of a carnival infiltrated by cosmic influences. The piece, "Doc Ledicker's Last Picture Show!...," provides an introduction to a story in the same issue. Drawn at actual published size, the image boasts delicate line-shading and a decorative border. Its companion-piece, a painstakingly hand-cut grayscale overlay (for spot-color reproduction), features varying grades of Zipatone shading film and additional artwork. Weirdo, a creation of Underground Comix innovator Robert Crumb, served as a showcase for himself and many fellow artists. Ink over graphite on lightweight Bristol board. Image area, 7.5" x 10.5". Excellent condition. From the Eric Sack Collection.
