Kijonah Shock V1#3 Cover Original Art (Stanley, 1969). Once Creepy and Eerie magazines had proved a publisher could beat the Comics Code's ban on horror, a few prolific rivals climbed aboard a new bandwagon -- in newsstand-magazine guise, outside the reach of the Code. Much of the material, of course, was comprised of pre-Code stories, resurrected without historical context. This cover art, signed as "Kijonah," is unique to the title but packs a pre-Code, 1950s-type vibe. Accompanied by a color photocopy of the published magazine cover. Ink over graphite on Bristol board. The image area is 13.5" x 18", with Adhesive stains in the title area and blurb-box. The title is missing, and one typeset blurb has loosened. In Excellent condition.
