Description

Ken Steacy [Todd McFarlane printed line] Spawn #2 Cover Original Art (Image, 1992). This issue marks the first appearance of "the Violator" (aka The Clown). Original art by McFarlane and Steacy is highly sought-after, and the cover of Spawn #2 remains one of the most beloved in the series. Todd McFarlane conceived of "Spawn" as early as 1977, and with Issue #301 in 2019 it has achieved status as the longest-running independent comic book series. Original cover artwork produced in airbrush by Steacy over McFarlane's printed line work on 9.75" x 15" art board. Signed at center left by Steacy. Ken Steacy has signed and inscribed on the verso, "For Harlan 'n Sue, from those crazy Canucks, eh!? - Take off, you hoser! - (Authentic dialect) Steacy '92'." In Excellent condition.
From the Harlan Ellison Collection.
