Kelly Freas Mad #72 Special 10th Anniversary Issue Cover Original Art (EC, 1962).When it comes to magazine mascots, Alfred E. Neuman takes the cake -- as only he can in this 10th anniversary celebration. Here is a classic Mad cover from beloved cover artist Kelly Freas, and a true laugh-riot. This large, impressive gouache and watercolor on board piece has an image area of approximately 13" x 17.5", and it has been tastefully matted and framed under U/V Plexiglas to an overall size of 19.5" x 24". When comparing this piece to the printed magazine version, the color was either saturated in the production process, or the hues on this original have faded somewhat; otherwise, the art in Excellent condition. A copy of the magazine is included with this lot.
