Description

Kelly Freas Crazy Magazine #9 Cover Element Painting Original Art (Marvel, 1975). Why would Marvel pay Kelly Freas to paint two covers for the same issue? Because this is Crazy, The Magazine That Dares To Be Dumb! The full published cover featured a panel showing all nine covers for Crazy so far published. But since this was for Issue #9, Freas created a faux-cover for his painting of the real cover for Issue #9. We sincerely hope he "double-dipped" for payment on this cover. The oil painting on 15" x 20" illustration board appeared on the printed cover a 3/4-of-an-inch x 1". It was a long way to go for a gag, to be sure! Matted to 16" x 20", the painting is in Excellent condition. Comes with a copy of the printed magazine.
