DescriptionKeith Pollard and Bob McLeod Amazing Spider-Man #192 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1979). Professor Smythe has both Spider-Man and J. Jonah Jameson handcuffed to a time bomb! We can't decide which will be worse for ol' Web-Head -- detonation of the bomb in 24 hours, or being stuck with J. J. all that time! This is quite a handsome late Bronze Age cover illustration, crammed to the edges with detail. The art is in ink over graphite on World Color Bristol board, with an image area measuring approximately 9.75" x 15". All logo and masthead elements are original production elements, as are the word balloons and the "24 Hours to Doomsday!" cover blurb. The pasted-on elements are beginning to slightly lift up, and there's a minor amount of handling in the outer borders, but the art image remains in Excellent condition.

I have done a preliminary analysis and the total of the hammer prices was $67,550. With BP, the final figure was $80,722.25. That is against the total insurance value of $34,785 or 2.32 x ‘pre-auction estimate’. Incredible, really, so a big thanks.View More Testimonials
