José Ortiz Creepy #72 Uncle Creepy Inside Front Cover Illustration Original Art (Warren, 1975). Uncle Creepy cracks open a Pandora's box of petrifying promises: cyborgs and curses, monsters and madmen, ghouls and graveyard roommates -- a full cornucopia of creepiness for the morbidly curious. And to seal the shivers, a black cat drags away its consolation carcass, miffed it's stuck with leftovers. Spanish maestro José Ortiz, the tireless workhorse of Warren's wicked stable, conjured more eerie delights than any other artist from 1974 to 1983, even lending Vampirella his darkly delicious touch. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 15.25". Slight toning, staining, minor foxing, missing text paste-up ("Lucky people! All I got in my box was left-overs!"), smudging, toned text paste-ups, whiteout corrections with minor wear, tape residue on top edge, and handling wear.
