Description

José Luis García-Lopez and Vince Colletta Starfire #2 Cover Original Art (DC, 1976). DC Comics flirted with a spate of Sci-Fi titles in the 1970s. Almost all were very good, but sadly none of them really caught on. This space-fantasy heroine was the second character to use the name "Starfire" in the DC Universe. (And no, the first was not Princess Koriand'r. She was the third.) A wonderful cover by fan-favorite José Luis García-Lopez, created in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The header banner trade dressing and the lower are stat paste-ups. The"Savage Action" blurb is a hand-lettered paste-up. The UPC Box is missing, leaving glue residue on the toned board, and there are glue streaks in the image area. In Very Good condition.
