Jon Bogdanove and Dick Giordano Steel: The Official Comic Adaptation Cover Original Art (DC, 1997). John Henry Irons (as portrayed by Shaquille O'Neal) charges towards the reader in this stunning cover which showcases the hero in and out of his armor, posed beside Lt. Burke (Judd Nelson). The 1997 movie was loosely based on DC's character of the same name but separated itself from the comic series by doing away with John Henry Irons' ties to Superman, coming up with original protagonists and antagonists. Ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10.25" x 15". Mild edge and corner wear, slight toning, marginal smudging, the word "Irons" in the lower left area has faded or was erased during production.
