Description

Johnny Craig Vault of Horror #31 Cover Original Art (EC, 1953). Huge twice-up scale Johnny Craig covers are few and highly-prized by their owners, and this is one of the cleanest and nicest ones we have ever seen! The image was for the first story in the issue, titled "Easel Kill Ya!", which was also penciled and inked by Johnny Craig. The cover is produced on EC Bristol board with an image area of 13.5" x 19.75". The rain effect is produced with an old illustrator's technique of scratching the surface of a fully inked area to create jagged streaks of white. The logo and horror-hosts' images are all original stats, as is the caption box. This iconic cover is in a brain-bashing Excellent condition.
