DescriptionJohn Severin Cracked Biggest Greatest #16 Cover Painting Original Art (Major Publications, 1981). There's something fishy going on here... mascot Sylvester P. Smythe is taking some time off! In the background, the fish are elevating "stealing the bait" to a whole new level! Produced by EC Comics alumni and comic art legend John Severin, this piece is created in mixed media on Bristol board with a 10" x 10.5" image area. The board is affixed to a larger Bristol board. Both are tanned, stiff, and starting to warp, which is causing the original art to come un-stuck from the backing board. There is foxing and tanning as well, putting this in Good condition. From the Cracked Vault Collection.
