DescriptionJohn Severin Cracked #123 Planet of the Apes Cover Original Art (Major Publications, 1975). By 1975, the hugely popular Planet of the Apes had spawned five movies, a live action TV series, and an animated TV cartoon. So it's only natural that it was time for Cracked to poke it with a sharp stick. This pseudo-simian cover is produced in acrylic on illustration board with an image area of 14" x 19.5" (counting the paste-up logo.) The logo has discolored and there is foxing and discoloring on the white background as well. The board has a horizontal crease on the backside that is only faintly visible on the front. Edge and corner wear. Signed in the lower image area, this is in Good condition. From The Cracked Vault Collection.
