Description

John Romita Sr. Astonishing Tales #22 IT! Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1974). If you have been looking for IT, then here IT is! IT, the Living Colossus, that is. The original version of the Colossus was created by Jack Kirby in Tales of Suspense #14 (1961), and the concept was revived and retooled by Tony Isabella and Dick Ayers (with input by Editor Roy Thomas) in the previous issue of this title. Here the giant construct battles Granitor, Lord of the Gargoyles on an exciting cover of clashing titans by Romita the Senior. Produced in ink over blue pencil on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". The logo and header info is a stat paste-up. The three caption boxes are all missing, leaving some glue residue there and in some other places on the cover. Overall in Good condition.
