DescriptionJohn Romita Sr. and John Buscema - Conan the Barbarian #58 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1976). This issue saw the long-awaited first "real" comic book appearance of Robert E. Howard's unforgettable character Belit from the story "Queen of the Black Coast" (she had only been seen in a brief flashback previously)! That makes this one of the more collectible covers of the series' long run. Working from a John Buscema design, John Romita Sr. inked this cover image directly onto translucent vellum paper, so there are no signs of Buscema's under-penciling on the art. There are no title logos or type stats on the art, and it is very clean. The vellum paper is a cream color. John Romita Sr. has signed the art in the lower border of the vellum. The image area measures 10" x 14", and the art comes with a copy of the comic book. The piece is in Excellent condition. "Jazzy" John Romita Sr. is in full command of his lush inking style on this gorgeous Bronze Age Conan masterwork.
