DescriptionJohn Romita Sr. Amazing Spider-Man #62 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1968). A "twice-up" cover that has been locked away in a personal collection for some three decades! It's been years since we've sold a large Romita Spider-Man cover, and after our last such sale many a collector lamented the mistake of not having bid more aggressively.
This cover has the added bonus of Medusa of the Inhumans, a character who is very hot at the moment due to rumored future movie or TV appearances of the Inhumans. We believe that this was only her second appearance outside of the Fantastic Four series, and it was certainly her first in this series, as well as the first time she wore the costume seen here. The art is signed by Romita at left. Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an approximate image area of 12.25" x 18.5". Pinholes, a creased corner at the top left, and the usual glue stains. There's a piece of tape over the price and issue number, another connecting Spider-Man's elbow to the text at bottom, and a tiny piece on Medusa's foot. The figures (which are all original art) and the blurb at bottom are all on a separate piece of board attached to the larger board. Good condition.
