DescriptionJohn Romita and Rich Buckler - Original Cover Art for The Cat #3 (Marvel, 1973). The Cat is caught in a web of deceit by the fiendish pirate, Commander Kraken, in this wicked cover from the third issue of The Cat comic book series. Penciled by John Romita and inked by Rich Buckler, it's a dastardly image of Kraken with the Cat in his clutches; the Cat figure was redrawn by Romita with a liberal use of white-out. The overall size is 11.5" x 17.5" with an image area of 10" x 15". The logo and indicias are original, but the word balloons are replacement photocopies. The work is clean, with some minimal yellowing, and a large stain from a lost paste-up at the bottom left edge of the art. Signed by John Romita. Includes a copy of The Cat #3 comic book.
