Description

John McCrea Hitman #1 Batman Cover Original Art (DC, 1996). Tommy Monaghan, the super-powered hitman of the DC Comics Universe, created by Garth Ennis and John McCrea, first appeared in the Demon Annual #2, and then went on to star in his own successful 61-issue series. Thanks to the Dark Knight, this cover spotlighting the ex-Marine Gulf War veteran turned contract killer from the Cauldron, a lower-class Irish district of Gotham City, opens with blazing, two-fisted gunplay. This starkly lit shocker has an overall of 11" x 17", and the art is in Excellent condition. A preliminary version, loosely drawn in graphite on regular DC Comics art board, is also included; it's in Excellent condition. From the Shamus Modern Masterworks Collection.
