John Cassaday Astonishing X-Men #4 Colossus Variant Cover Original Art (Marvel, 2004). Fans were left breathless when Colossus emerged from the shadows alive in the closing pages of Joss Whedon and John Cassaday's Astonishing X-Men #4, after being presumed dead for years. To commemorate the event, Cassaday created this special 1:10 variant cover, released a few weeks after the standard issue to avoid spoiling the big surprise. Tragically, the Eisner Award-winning Cassaday passed away in September of this year, leaving behind a lasting legacy that has influenced a generation of fans and fellow creators. Rendered in ink and white paint over graphite on Bristol board with a 10.5" x 16" image area. Initialed "JC" in the image area and in Excellent condition.
