DescriptionJohn Byrne Wolverine #1 Back Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1988). From the very first "Wolverine Gallery" which ran on the back cover of the title, we offer this very stark John Byrne Wolverine! Byrne was partially responsible for catapulting this character, like a Fastball Special into stardom from his appearances in the "All-New, All-Different" X-Men, in the early 1980s. However overwhelmed by fan requests for sketches of Wolverine, Byrne stopped drawing him for a long time. Consequently, Wolverine drawings by Byrne are eagerly sought out and highly prized by collectors. This is your chance to own one, as the character has never looked better than on this great gallery piece! Signed by Byrne near the bottom, it is ink and marker over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 10" x 15". In Excellent condition. From the Greg Reece Collection.
