DescriptionJohn Byrne Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #102 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1985). John Byrne continued the legacy of artistic brilliance established for the web-spinner by Steve Ditko and John Romita Sr. right on into the Bronze Age. Ever respectful of his artistic forefathers' work, Byrne tries out a little Steve Ditko-styled rim lighting on Spider-Man's back. Byrne's art featured a perfect blend of bravura draftsmanship, complexity, and storytelling clarity, and he soon became a fan-favorite. Byrne's Spider-Man covers are extremely scarce. It's a race against time as Spider-Man tries to locate the twin brother of a young woman who desperately needs a kidney transplant after being hit by a drunk driver. Can the wall-crawler defeat Killer Shrike and then get a kidney donor to the hospital in time? This Marvel masterwork has an image area of 10" x 15", and aside from some light overall paper aging, the art is in Excellent condition.
