Description
John Byrne Fantastic Four #256 Annihilus Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1983). This masterwork is only the fourth John Byrne Fantastic Four cover we've offered for sale -- and Byrne covers that feature the whole original team are relatively few, especially since much of Byrne's tenure had the She-Hulk as the Thing's replacement. In this thriller, the Fantastic Four must find a way to escape the mysterious Negative Zone in time to stop the sinister Annihilus from achieving his ultimate goal. Plus, the mighty Galactus' strength is waning and newly created herald, Nova, plans to see that her master gets the sustenance he needs to survive. What does this mean for the alien Skrulls' homeworld? This iconic cover scene for this memorable yarn, "The Annihilation Gambit," from a peak period has an image area of 12" x 18".
