DescriptionJohn Byrne Fantastic Four #248 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1982). Featuring the entire classic line-up of Reed, Sue, Johnny, and Ben, plus several Inhumans, including Medusa. After Byrne's groundbreaking work revitalizing the X-Men, he turned his considerable talents to the FF, five years that most fans refer to as the second "golden age" for the title. He proceeded to shake things up in a way that's still being felt today. In "Nightmare," the team are visiting the Inhumans for the naming of Crystal's baby when they are attacked by a giant red-eyed alien. This "giant eyeball" cover has Sue "Invisible Woman" Richards down for the count -- hey Thing, looks like it's clobberin' time again! Of the few Byrne FF covers we've offered, this one is perhaps the most dynamic of the bunch. The art is in ink over graphite on Marvel Comics Bristol board, with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The board has tanned somewhat, but is in otherwise Excellent condition, with all original masthead, logo, and display type stats original. In addition to his signature within the art, Byrne signed the blank UPC Code box in the lower left! This one has it all, Marvelites! Excelsior!
