Description
John Byrne Christmas with the Super-Heroes #1 Wrap-Around Cover Original Art (DC, 1988). Some of the top stars from DC's vast stable of characters... Batman and Superman (both with recent movies), Black Canary and Green Arrow (both appearing on the TV series Arrow), Wildfire of the Legion of Super-Heroes (the LSH has been hinted at on the TV series Supergirl), and Robin and Wonder Girl of the original Teen Titans (Wonder Girl's mentor-hero, Wonder Woman, was smashing the box offices recently). This is a cheerful and lovely piece, and it is striking that the Bristol board is still so white for a cover that is nearly 30 years old! Created in ink over graphite on two pieces of conjoined Bristol board with a combined area of 22" x 17.5". Signed in the lower left of the image area "John Byrne -- after Mike Carlin, 1988".
