Description

John Byrne and Joe Rubinstein Captain America #253 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1981). A classic cover from Byrne's brief but fondly remembered eight-issue run on this title. In the chilling thriller from "Tomb of Blood," there seems to be a slasher on the loose and all the clues point to the Invaders' old adversary, the vampire Baron Blood. (By the way, this book has been snapped up as a key lately thanks to having the first appearance of Joe Chapman, who became Union Jack.) In the story, Captain America is called to London where he us reunited with his World War II friends Jacqueline Falsworth (former Spitfire and Cap's teammate in the Invaders) and Lord Falsworth (former Union Jack of World War I). This Marvel masterwork has an image area of 10" x 15", and the art is in Excellent condition. Signed by John Byrne and Joe Rubinstein at the lower left.
