Joe Maneely Kid Colt Outlaw #53 Cover Original Art (Marvel, 1955). Few Maneely covers are on the collectors' market -- this is the first one we've offered in more than ten years. The art is well-detailed, exciting, and expressive. No surprise since Maneely had been working in the industry for almost 10 years at this point, and would produce hundreds of stories (mostly for Marvel) in the 1950s alone. This stunning cover was crafted twice-up scale in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 13.5" x 20". The logo and CCA stamp are stat paste-ups (the logo is loose, but held in place by production tape). There are some missing paste-ups, leaving glue residue in places near the masthead and in the lower right where a caption box is missing. The reverse side has a comical graphite portrait piece of a man. Overall, the lightly toned page is in Very Good condition.
