Description

Joe Kubert Tor #1 Cover Original Art (DC, 1975). This stunning cover features a revival of Kubert's character Tor! Tor was first published in a five-issue series from St. John Publications in 1953. His DC Comics run wasn't much longer, at only six issues. This new series started as a pitch for a newspaper comic strip version before being reformatted and expanded to this 16-Page issue. Even if you count the four-issue series from Marvel in 1993, there are still only a precious few Tor covers to be had! Only 15 in total. This one, with its impressive logo built into the background, was created in ink over graphite on DC Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 10". Some trade dressing stats are missing, leaving glue residue, and there is glue residue and discoloring all across the top edge and especially down the right side. Signed in the image area, and also signed and personalized to "Sergio" (Aragones?) in the spot where the price stat used to be. In Good condition.
