Description
Joe Kubert Sgt. Rock #385 Cover Original Art (DC, 1984). Sgt. Frank Rock goes hand-to-hand with a Nazi marauder amidst a battlefield/burial ground. Powerful imagery, here, from DC's longtime master of the war-comics scene. The arms extending over the logotype (upper-center) constitute an additional original drawing, pasted in place and fitted almost seamlessly to create a three-dimensional illusion. Ink over graphite on Sparta cover-stock Bristol board with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The logo, the DC bullet, and other header dressing are all paste-up stats.
