Description
Joe Kubert G.I. Combat #233 Cover Original Art (DC, 1981). An action-packed multi-paneled cover focusing on stories of American soldiers during wartime. Joe Kubert's realistic and detailed art shines on this and many other war covers he produced over the years. The dynamic design of the cover layout includes two split illustrations with insets rendered directly on the board. Ink over graphite on Bristol board (note that the insets are original art, drawn directly on the main board) with an image area of 9.75" x 15". The DC bullet, logo, and all header text are stat paste-ups. The slightly toned board has some residue staining and the "Gurkha" banner is a paste-up with taped correction.
