Description

Joe Jusko Superman Unchained #5 Variant Cover Original Art (DC, 2013-14). The publisher characterized this Jusko gem as a "Golden Age" takeoff for the Superman Unchained series. The more direct point of reference is Jusko's homage to a classic story called "The 100 Deaths of Clark Kent," as cover-illustrated in 1951 by a definitive Superman artist, Win Mortimer, for Action Comics #153. (A reference copy of the source-art is included.) Graphite on textured illustration board. Image area, 10.5" x 16", protected by a tracing-paper overlay. Excellent condition, with minimal natural smudging.
