Description

Joe Certa Charles Starrett as the Durango Kid #12 Cover and Partial Rough Layout for #23 Cover Original Art Group of 2 (Magazine Enterprises, 1951/1953). A fiery and exciting cover as the Durango Kid and Raider ride up on an exploding stage coach. Produced in ink over graphite on Bristol board with an image area of 7.5" x 10.5". The logo is a stat paste-up, with a small crease in it. Also included is a rough layout for the cover box insert for issue #23. The 6" x 4.75" image area features a graphite rough of the Red Scorpion and some hand-written text. There is partial stat text that would have read "Introducing: The Red Scorpion. Has Durango met his match as last?". The missing stat pieces have left glue residue. Light toning, otherwise these are in Excellent condition overall. From the Ethan Roberts Estate Collection.
