Description
Jim Steranko Infinity One Paperback Book Cover Original Art (Lancer Books, 1970). This stunning 1970 book cover bears more than a passing resemblance to Steranko's spacy cover art for Nick Fury, Agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. #6, published in 1968 -- and that's not a bad thing! The book was an anthology, thus the names of the many authors ran down the right side, accounting for the unusual layout. This mixed media painting, incorporating three pasted-on elements (the machine at top, the oval diagram next to the Steranko name, and the red planet behind the figure's legs), has an approximate image area of 10.5" x 17" including the solid black background; figure and art elements alone measure 7" x 15", and the art is matted to an overall 13" x 19.5". Some very minor rubbing has occurred to the right of the figure, within the "schematic" symbols; otherwise, the art is in Excellent condition.More information about Jim Steranko.
