Jim Steranko Detective Comics #33 Variant Cover Original Art (DC, 2014). This variant cover, which helped celebrate Batman's 75th Anniversary, really delivers when it comes to eye appeal. Drawn by Silver Age comic legend Jim Steranko, the piece has a familiar scene of The World's Greatest Detective swinging high above the rooftops to stop a handful of would-be criminals, that originally played out 75 years earlier on the cover of Detective Comics #27. Jim Steranko once noted that, "Superman had given DC its strength, but Batman gave it tone. Of course, Superman was more impressive... but Batman was more fascinating." We think fans will appreciate that this celebratory work is both impressive and fascinating. Ink over graphite on illustration board with a twice-up scale image area of 17" x 23".
