Description

Jim Lee and Scott Williams Batman: Black and White #1 Cover Original Art (DC, 1996). This highly-detailed, iconic scene represents the first DC cover work for future Co-Publisher and Chief Creative Officer of DC, Jim Lee! Batman stands fast, and ready to protect Gotham for the debut of the innovative fan-favorite series which spawned several more volumes and a very popular line of cold-cast statues. Lee is one of the most respected artists in American comics, and a true legend in the industry. Here his fine pencil work is accentuated by frequent partner, Scott Williams' clean inks. This art was also later used as the cover for the Black and White TPB. Ink over graphite on bright white Image Bristol board with an image area of 10.5" x 15.75". Small spots of soiling in the left side, and there is a mild crease in the lower area. Signed and in Excellent condition
