DescriptionJerry Grandenetti The National Crumb #1 Inside Back Cover Original Art (Mayfair, 1975). This pen and ink and wash drawing depicts the Pilgrims cutting a deal with Indians for Manhattan. The Pilgrims foresee a future in which their descendants live happily with nature, while the Indians foresee a world of crime and air pollution. In the published version, photos were pasted-in to show the predictions. They are included but have fallen away, revealing Jerry Grandenetti's original drawings of the future. This piece has an image area of 12" x 16.5". The prediction drawings are glue-stained;otherwise, the art is in Very Good condition.
