Description
Jamie McKelvie Phonogram #1 Cover Original Art (Image, 2006). Phonogram, from renowned comics duo Kieron Gillen and Jaime McKelvie, is a loving tribute to Britpop told from the perspective of "phonomancers" who harness the power of music like magic. Featured on the original cover art to the series' first issue are lead phonomancers David Kohl, Emily Aster, Silent Girl, and Beth. Gillen, who is openly bisexual, has worked with McKelvie on multiple successful comic series, such as Young Avengers and The Wicked + The Divine, and made it a point to prominently feature multiple gay or bisexual characters in all of their works together. Ink over graphite on 11" x 11.5" Bristol board. Slight toning and light handling wear. Signed by McKelvie. In Excellent condition. Includes two promotional flyers, one signed. A CGC-Certified 9.8 copy of the second printing of Phonogram #1 featuring McKelvie's cover is also included.More information about Image Comics artist.
